ABOUT US
The Minority Center for Participation & Empowerment is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the living conditions of low-income minority individuals and reducing the high levels of dependency that impact these communities. Our organization was established in response to the significant challenges facing minority populations, including persistent poverty, low educational attainment, worsening health disparities, rising gun violence that has claimed the lives of many young people, elevated crime rates, and the growing prevalence of substance use disorders that contribute to high incarceration rates.
We also recognize the limited access to quality healthcare, ongoing discrimination, and the need to strengthen solidarity and collective empowerment within minority communities. Additionally, the lack of sufficient recreational opportunities, such as sports, arts, and cultural programs for the elderly, children, and young adults, further underscores the urgency of our mission. We are African Americans, migrants from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East.
